As of October 25, Polymarket gave Bitcoin 48% to touch $90,000 in 2026 and 39.5% to dip to $70,000. How to read these touch-or-not markets.

According to Polymarket, as of October 25, 2026, traders put a 48% chance on Bitcoin touching $90,000 at some point in 2026 and 18.5% on it reaching $100,000. On the downside, the market gives 39.5% to a dip to $70,000. That same day BTC/USDT traded around $80,500 on Binance, the exchange the rules use to settle. What does it mean that Polymarket asks whether Bitcoin “hits” a price?
The question isn’t where Bitcoin will finish. It’s whether it touches a level at any point in the period. The “↑” contract resolves Yes if any one-minute BTC/USDT candle on Binance has a “High” at or above the level. The “↓” contract uses the “Low” at or below it. Two consequences follow:
- One wick is enough. If the price brushes $90,000 for a single minute and then falls back, the ↑ $90,000 contract has already resolved Yes.
- Levels that were hit leave the table. A contract that meets its condition resolves Yes immediately and drops off the open list. So the list only shows levels the price hasn’t touched yet in that period.
There’s another difference from a “close” market: the probabilities for different levels don’t add up to 100%. ↑ $90,000 at 48% and ↑ $100,000 at 18.5% aren’t contradictory. To reach $100,000 the price would first have to pass $90,000, so the farther level can never be worth more than the nearer one. For how that percentage is built, see how to read Polymarket odds.
What resolution source does Polymarket use for Bitcoin?
Both descriptions name the same one: Binance’s BTC/USDT pair on the 1-minute candle chart. The rules state that other exchanges, other pairs and spot prices from other sites don’t count. For the yearly market, the window starts when the contract was created (November 24, 2025) and ends at 11:59 p.m. on December 31, 2026, Eastern Time; price action before creation is ignored.
This matters because the number in a price app can differ by a few dollars from Binance’s in the same minute, and a level like $90,000 can be touched on one site and not the other. The rule governs, not whichever chart you have open. For the general settlement process, read how Polymarket markets resolve.
Which dates can move these markets?
Nobody can say which way a given date will push the price, but some dates draw attention. The Federal Reserve’s official calendar sets the 2026 FOMC policy meetings for October 27-28 and December 8-9. Polymarket runs its own markets on those decisions: see the Fed decision page. A live board sits below; its numbers may have moved since the figures in this analysis.
What can go wrong in the reading
- Distance from the current price. From roughly $80,500, $90,000 is about 12% higher and $70,000 about 13% lower. The farther the level and the shorter the time left, the lower the probability, but that is arithmetic, not a prediction.
- Uneven liquidity. The ↑ $100,000 contract has nearly $4 million in volume, while ↑ $95,000 has under $1 million. A thinly traded level can move on a few orders.
- Fees. Crypto carries Polymarket’s highest taker rate (0.07). If you trade, look at the fees before the percentage.
- A market is not technical analysis. It is an aggregate of what others are willing to pay. Nothing here is investment advice.

Frequently asked questions
How high will Bitcoin go in 2026?
Nobody knows. Polymarket shows a probability per level: as of October 25, 2026, 48% for $90,000 and 18.5% for $100,000. These are odds of touching the level at some point, not a prediction of where the price will be.
What’s the difference between “hitting” a price and “closing” above it?
Hitting means one one-minute candle reaches the level; closing means the price is above it at a fixed moment. In touch markets, a brief wick is enough for the contract to resolve Yes.
Where does the price Polymarket settles on come from?
From the BTC/USDT pair on Binance, using 1-minute candles. Prices from other exchanges or pairs are not considered, even if they differ from Binance’s at that moment.
