Polymarket in Mexico: is it legal and how to deposit? (2026)
Available
Polymarket does not restrict Mexico. It is not regulated by SEGOB or CNBV, so it sits in a grey area: not forbidden for users, but with no local licence either.
How to deposit from Mexico
The short route: get USDC with MXN on Bitso or Binance or OKX (directly or by converting USDT, depending on what is offered locally) and send it over the Polygon network to your Polymarket deposit address, found under Deposit → crypto transfer. Polymarket charges nothing to deposit or withdraw; what you pay is the exchange fee and the currency conversion.
The full step-by-step, with the most common mistakes, is in how to deposit on Polymarket.

Why your bank will not sell you USDC
Mexican banks and fintech institutions are not allowed to offer clients the purchase, sale or custody of virtual assets. Banco de México's Circular 4/2019 limits them to internal operations, and only with prior approval. That is why the way in always runs through an exchange rather than your banking app.
On Bitso, pesos arrive by SPEI: in the app you open the Mexican peso wallet, tap Deposit, then SPEI transfer, and copy the CLABE tied to your profile. Bitso asks for a validated CURP and suggests checking your monthly limits first. The alternative is buying from individuals on Binance P2P: on 25 October 2026, people selling USDC for pesos were taking BBVA, Banorte, Santander, Mercado Pago or STP payments. Every seller sets its own terms and limits.
No permit from the gaming authority
Licensed betting in Mexico is authorised by the Dirección General de Juegos y Sorteos, part of the Interior Ministry (SEGOB), under the Federal Games and Draws Law. Polymarket holds no such permit, and the law says nothing about prediction markets. That is the grey area summed up above: nobody has banned it, but there is no Mexican regulator to turn to if something goes wrong.
