Polymarket fee calculator
Pick the market category, how many contracts you buy and at what price. The fee is computed with Polymarket's official formula and rates.
How it is calculated
Polymarket charges fees only to takers, the people who accept an order already in the book. The official formula is shares × rate × price × (1 − price). The rate depends on the category: 0.07 for crypto, 0.05 for sports, economics, culture, weather and combos, 0.04 for politics, finance, tech and mentions, and 0 for geopolitics. Because the formula multiplies price by (1 − price), the fee peaks when the contract is worth 0.50 and almost vanishes near 0 or 1. Full table and examples.
Three ways to pay less
- Place limit orders and wait for them to fill: as a maker the fee is zero.
- If you must take the book price, do it away from 0.50: at 0.90 you pay just over a third of what you pay at 0.50.
- Crypto has the highest rate of all; that is where the maker-taker gap is biggest.
Frequently asked questions
Is the fee deducted from winnings or paid separately?
It is charged when the order fills, in USDC, on top of the contract price. If you win, you receive 1 USDC per contract with no further deductions.
Do deposits or withdrawals have fees?
Polymarket charges nothing to deposit or withdraw. What you pay is the fee of the exchange where you buy USDC and, sometimes, the network.
Where do these rates come from?
From Polymarket's official fee documentation, reviewed in October 2026. Rates changed several times during the year; each market shows its own on its page.
