Legal notice and responsible trading

What MercadoDice is, and what it is not
It is an information site. It explains how Polymarket and prediction markets work, shows the public prices of those markets and summarises the platform's legal status in each country, with linked sources.
- It is not a betting or prediction-market operator: it takes no money, opens no accounts and executes no trades.
- It does not give financial, legal or tax advice. The probabilities you see are market prices, not buy or sell recommendations.
- It has no relationship with Polymarket beyond its public referral program. Polymarket and the other brands mentioned belong to their owners.
Market data
Prices, volumes and charts come from Polymarket's public API and refresh every few minutes, so they can be delayed or carry errors from the source. Before making any decision, check the market and its rules on the official platform. Articles are written with linked sources and corrected whenever someone reports a mistake.
Referral links
Some guides show a referral link to Polymarket, labelled as such. If you sign up through it, Polymarket pays this site a share of the fees you generate for a limited time, under its referral program. It costs you nothing.
The link is shown only to visitors from countries where the platform is available. Where Polymarket or a local regulator blocks it, the site only reports the block. This site never explains how to get around a block or use a VPN: doing so breaks Polymarket's terms and, depending on the country, local law.
Risks of prediction markets
- Adults only. This site is aimed at people aged 18 and over. Check the platform's terms for the minimum age it requires in your country.
- You can lose everything you put in. A contract that does not happen is worth zero. Only trade money you can afford to lose without affecting your bills.
- Legality depends on your country. Check your situation in the by-country section before signing up. A platform that works technically is not necessarily authorised.
- Profits may be taxable. Ask an accountant how to report them where you live.
Responsible trading
If trading makes you anxious, if you find yourself chasing losses, or if you spend money or time on it that you need for other things, stop and ask for help. These organisations offer free, confidential support:
- Gambling Therapy: online support in several languages, from any country.
- Gamblers Anonymous: support groups with an international presence.
