Polymarket in Peru: is it legal and how to deposit? (2026)
Available
No Polymarket restriction and no known local block. Markets on the 2026 Peruvian election were among the most searched in Spanish.
How to deposit from Peru
The short route: get USDC with PEN on Binance or Buda or OKX (directly or by converting USDT, depending on what is offered locally) and send it over the Polygon network to your Polymarket deposit address, found under Deposit → crypto transfer. Polymarket charges nothing to deposit or withdraw; what you pay is the exchange fee and the currency conversion.
The full step-by-step, with the most common mistakes, is in how to deposit on Polymarket.

Mincetur and the remote betting law
Peru is one of the few countries in the region with a dedicated online gambling law. Law 31557 covers remote games and remote sports betting, and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) licenses, inspects and sanctions the platforms. It enforces the law through blocks: on 2 October 2026 it reported blocking 50 unauthorised platforms with the Transport and Communications Ministry, bringing the year's total to 86 of the 157 it planned.
Mincetur has announced no action against Polymarket and has not said whether a prediction market counts as remote sports betting. If that changes, this page will reflect it.
Soles, Yape and Plin
Buda lets you buy USDC straight from soles. Among individual sellers on Binance P2P in late October 2026, Yape and Plin were the most common ways to pay in soles, followed by Interbank, BBVA and Banco de Crédito. Since 2024, exchanges operating in Peru fall under the anti-money-laundering rule the SBS wrote for virtual asset service providers (SBS Resolution 02648-2024), so expect an identity check before your first withdrawal.
Peruvian elections on Polymarket
The 2026 elections produced markets on the presidency and on the mayoral races in Lima, Cusco, Trujillo, Piura, Huancayo and Maynas, which is unusual for local contests. Our guide to using Polymarket in Peru walks through the deposit step by step.
