Can you use Polymarket in Kenya?

Yes. Kenya is not on Polymarket’s geoblocking list and there is no known local block. Polymarket does not accept Kenyan shillings directly. The route is: buy USDC on an exchange, send it over the Polygon network to your Polymarket deposit address, and when you want to cash out, send USDC back to the exchange and sell it for shillings.

On the legal side, the facts are short: Polymarket does not restrict Kenya and no local block is known. There is no ruling on record for or against prediction markets in the country, and nothing beyond that can be claimed. On the “legit” side, make sure you are on Polymarket’s official site and never send funds to an address that did not come from your own deposit screen. The Kenya page carries the current status.

Step 1: buy USDC with shillings

The exchanges most used in Kenya for USDC:

Exchange What you use it for
Binance Buying USDC with shillings through its available methods
Bybit Buying USDC through its available methods
  1. Sign up and complete the verification the exchange requires.
  2. Fund your account in KES with one of the methods it supports.
  3. Buy USDC, a stablecoin worth 1 US dollar.

Both exchanges publish their own buy, sell and withdrawal fees. Check them before moving money: on this route they are where most of the cost sits.

Step 2: send USDC to Polymarket on Polygon

  1. On Polymarket, go to Deposit and copy your EVM address. It is unique to your wallet and that network type.
  2. On Binance or Bybit, choose Withdraw, select USDC and the Polygon network. If Polygon is not listed, choose another network that Polymarket’s deposit screen shows as supported and use the same one on both sides.
  3. Check the minimum displayed on the deposit screen. It changes, so always read it fresh.
  4. Confirm. When the USDC arrives, Polymarket converts it to pUSD automatically.

The wrong network or an unsupported token can mean losing the transfer permanently. recovery.polymarket.com exists to try to recover mistaken deposits, but success is not guaranteed. For more detail on each screen, see how to deposit on Polymarket.

There is also a card deposit option, run by an external processor with its own fees, and a Coinbase connection.

Step 3: withdraw from Polymarket to shillings

  1. Press Withdraw on Polymarket. Your pUSD becomes native USDC through a Uniswap pool on Polygon.
  2. Paste your USDC deposit address from Binance or Bybit and pick the same network.
  3. On the exchange, sell USDC for shillings and withdraw them using the methods and timelines that exchange offers.

From the official withdrawal docs: Polymarket charges no withdrawal fee, and withdrawals are instant unless the Uniswap pool is depleted. If that happens, split the amount into smaller withdrawals or wait. You can withdraw pUSD without converting it, but some exchanges do not accept pUSD, so withdraw as USDC to be safe.

Frequently asked questions

Is Polymarket available in Kenya?

Yes. Kenya is not on Polymarket’s geoblocking list and there is no known local block. You fund your account with USDC, not shillings.

Which exchange can I use to deposit on Polymarket from Kenya?

Binance and Bybit are the most used. Buy USDC with shillings, then withdraw it over Polygon to your Polymarket deposit address.

How do I cash out from Polymarket in Kenya?

Withdraw USDC to your exchange on the same network, sell it for shillings and withdraw them with the exchange’s methods. Polymarket itself does not charge for withdrawals.

Is there a Polymarket app in Kenya?

Polymarket has an official listing on Google Play and an iPhone app on the App Store, but availability varies by country and the iPhone app is aimed at the US. If it does not show up in your store, the mobile website has the same features. Never install an APK from outside Google Play; the Polymarket app guide explains how to spot fakes.

Do I need a VPN to use Polymarket in Kenya?

No. Kenya is not restricted, so there is nothing to get around. Using a VPN to bypass a block somewhere else violates Polymarket’s terms and can leave an account in close-only mode.
