Polymarket app: how to install it on Android and iOS and avoid the fakes

The short answer

Polymarket has an official app published by the company itself on Apple’s App Store and on Google Play. If it does not show up in your store or will not install, the reason is almost always your country: stores filter by region and the app has rolled out in stages. In that case, Polymarket’s website works fully from your phone’s browser and is the option we recommend. What you should never do is install an APK file downloaded from a third-party site.

Which apps actually exist

• App Store (iOS). The official listing is “Polymarket” and the developer is Polymarket. Its US launch was staged from late 2025, first with a waitlist and a sports-first focus, and in May 2026 it opened without an access code. That US version belongs to polymarket.us, a separate entity from the global platform.
• Google Play (Android). There is a listing published by the developer Polymarket. Availability by country has been uneven, with reports of waitlists in some markets during 2026.
• The mobile web. polymarket.com works in any phone browser with the same features as the app: markets, deposits, withdrawals and limit orders. In countries where Polymarket is available, such as Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa or the Philippines, it is the most direct way to use it.

How to recognise the official app

1. The developer is called Polymarket. In the store listing, the developer name sits under the app name. If it says anything else, it is not the official app.
2. It never asks for private keys or seed phrases. The official app lets you sign in with email or your wallet, but it never asks you to type the twelve recovery words of another wallet.
3. It promises no bonuses or signals. Apps offering a “welcome bonus”, “guaranteed copy trading” or “VIP signals” are not from Polymarket.
4. It matches the link on the official site. If you open polymarket.com on your phone and it links to an app, that is the right one.

Polymarket APK: why you should never sideload one

If you are searching for a “Polymarket APK”, know this first: Polymarket does not publish APKs outside Google Play. Any file with that name on a download site, in a Telegram group or behind a link someone sends you comes from a third party. Android lets you install apps from APK files outside the store, but with an app that handles money, that is the worst possible idea:

• A modified APK can copy your email, password or recovery phrase and drain your balance.
• It receives no security updates, and you have no way to know its code matches the official app.
• If something goes wrong, there is nobody to complain to.

If Google Play does not show the app in your country, use the mobile web. You lose very little: the web has the same features.

If the app is missing from your store

• Your country is not in the rollout. The most common case outside the United States. Use the mobile web; you can add it to your home screen from the browser menu and it behaves almost like an app.
• Polymarket is blocked in your country. Regulators have blocked it in Spain, Argentina, Colombia, India and the Philippines, and Polymarket itself restricts the United States (which uses polymarket.us), the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Brazil and others. Check the status by country before trying anything. We do not recommend a VPN: it violates the terms and can leave your account in close-only mode.
• Your store account is from another country. Stores show apps based on the account’s country, not where you are.

What you can do from your phone
