Best AI Model 2026 on Polymarket: Which Company Leads
As of November 4, Polymarket gave Google 59.5% and Anthropic 32.5% to have the best AI model at the end of 2026. Which ranking decides it and its limits.

According to Polymarket, as of November 4, 2026, the “Which company has best AI model end of 2026?” market gives Google 59.5% and Anthropic 32.5% to own the best AI model at year-end; OpenAI sits at 4.05%. Ten days ago the order was reversed. “Best” isn’t decided by Polymarket or by anyone’s opinion. A public ranking, Arena’s Text Arena, decides it, and only at the moment it is checked. This is what the market assigns today, not a judgment on any company.
What Polymarket says today about the best AI
There is one market per check date. The October market is over and resolved to Google. The November and year-end markets remain open. Total volume came to about $4.2 million for October, and stands at $0.8 million for November and $3.9 million for year-end.
| Company | End of October (resolved) | End of November | End of 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Won | 67.5% | 59.5% | |
| Anthropic | No | 29.5% | 32.5% |
| OpenAI | No | 3.3% | 4.05% |
| Meta | No | 0.5% | 1.5% |
Polymarket data as of November 4, 2026. The October market was checked on October 31 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time and closed the same day.
The shift has a clear date. On October 28, in the year-end market, Anthropic traded near 55.5% and Google near 34.5%. That same day Google unveiled Gemini 4 Carbon, and by the next day Google was above 51%. This is still a reading of prices: the market doesn’t explain why it moves, though the timing is hard to ignore.
There are also weekly markets on individual models, which don’t take in models that appear after creation. The November 2 market resolved to “Other”, the option covering unlisted models: Gemini 4 Carbon wasn’t on the list. The November 9 market repeats that list and gives “Other” 96.7%. The November 16 market does include “gemini-4-carbon-high”, at 76%, though it has only traded about $3,000.
What Arena’s table shows today
The table that decides these markets showed the following on November 4, dated October 27, with 9 million votes and 419 models:
| Rank | Model | Company | Score | Votes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Gemini 4 Carbon (High) | 1,540 ± 9 | 4,403 | |
| 2 | Gemini 4 Argon (High) | 1,529 ± 6 | 11,889 | |
| 3 | Claude Opus 5.5 (High) | Anthropic | 1,516 ± 7 | 11,415 |
| 4 | Claude Fable 5.1 (Max) | Anthropic | 1,514 ± 6 | 17,178 |
| 5 | Claude Opus 5 (Max) | Anthropic | 1,508 ± 5 | 35,531 |
Three caveats matter. Carbon is marked “Preliminary”, with fewer votes than its rivals and the widest margin; the page doesn’t define the term, and the market rules only exclude “AutoEval” models. Google also says Carbon is reaching “a subset of cyber defenders” and trusted partners for now, with no date for the general public. The market text doesn’t require a model to be open to everyone. And OpenAI is far behind on this table: its best model, GPT-5.5 (High), sits 31st with 1,472 points.
Between October 25 and November 4, Anthropic’s newsroom lists no new models; the latest is Claude Haiku 5.5, from October 7. TestingCatalog reported on November 1 that a reference to “Claude Mythos 5.5” had appeared on Anthropic’s website, with no official announcement, so it stays a rumor.
Which ranking does Polymarket use to decide the best AI?
The November and year-end markets share the same idea: the winner is the company that owns the top-placed model on Arena’s Text Arena (Overall) at the check date (12:00 p.m. Eastern). The November text fixes these details:
- The “Rank” column, with the models filter and no adjustments (style control off, Adjustments: None).
- Models marked “AutoEval” are ignored, even if they display a rank or score.
- If the ranking ties, models are ordered by Arena’s unrounded score. If a tie remains, the alphabetical order of company names in the market decides.
- If the site is down, the market waits for it to come back. If it disappears permanently, the market resolves to “Other”.
The year-end market is older and its text differs. It cites the older address (lmarena.ai, which now redirects to arena.ai), asks for style control off, doesn’t mention “AutoEval” and, if the source disappears, points to another resolution source rather than “Other”. The project, previously called Chatbot Arena and then LMArena, rebranded to Arena on January 28, 2026, according to Wikipedia. For how rules like these work in general, see how Polymarket markets resolve.
How is Arena’s ranking built?
On Arena, a person writes a prompt, gets answers from two anonymous models and votes for the one they prefer; only then are the names revealed, according to Wikipedia. So the ranking summarizes human preferences in blind comparisons. That’s why it is so widely cited, and it also defines its limits.
What can go wrong in the reading
- Preference is not capability. A model can win votes for the tone or presentation of its answers rather than for being better at a specific task. This is the general text ranking; it doesn’t measure, for example, image generation.
- Known criticism. Wikipedia notes that research has pointed to limitations in the methodology and that one study found hundreds of rigged votes can shift the rankings. In April 2025, Meta’s Llama 4 Maverick ranked high with a version different from the public release, and Arena changed its policies.
- Anonymous pre-release testing. According to the same source, several labs have tested models on Arena under codenames before launching them, so a change in the table can arrive without warning.
- One company, many models. The market asks about the company, not the model; it is enough for one of its models to rank first.
- A single moment. What counts is the table on the stated day and hour, not the yearly average. Carbon has few votes, and its score can still move.
- Uneven liquidity. The November market has traded about $0.8 million against $3.9 million for year-end; with low volume, the percentage moves more easily.
