How to read this page

Each row is an open Polymarket market related to this event. The big number is the probability the market assigns today to the leading outcome: it is the contract price, not a poll. The bar shows the Yes/No split and the line, the price over the last 7 days. Data comes from Polymarket's public API and refreshes every few minutes.

Short tournaments and the Liguilla: why the leader is not always the favourite

Liga MX plays two tournaments a year, the Apertura and the Clausura, and the champion comes out of the Liguilla, a knockout phase, not out of the regular-season table. That is why the champion market does not mirror the standings. The top side starts with an edge but still has to win several two-legged ties, and a short slump can knock it out. Teams that qualify from lower down face a longer road, and their price shows it.

The champion price moves in steps: when qualification is settled, when the bracket is set and after each first leg. Between matchdays, injuries, suspensions and fatigue from international fixtures all weigh in.

Match markets: three outcomes, not two

For regular-season games Polymarket usually lists three options: home win, draw and away win. If you buy Yes on a team and the game ends level, you lose, just as if the opponent had won. In the Liguilla, each market's rules spell out whether it refers to the 90-minute match or to who advances in the tie. They are not the same: a side can lose the second leg and still go through on aggregate.

Settlement and trading from Mexico

Resolution goes through UMA's oracle with a two-hour dispute window, so the payout does not land the moment the final whistle blows. Polymarket does not restrict Mexico and there is no known local block, but the activity is not regulated by SEGOB or the CNBV, which leaves it in a grey area. If you make a profit, ask an accountant how to report it.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as a bookmaker?

No. On Polymarket you buy and sell contracts with other people, you can exit before the tournament ends, and the price reflects the probability the market assigns, not odds set by the house.

Do these markets charge fees?

Yes. Sports markets have a 0.05 taker rate under the official table. If you place a limit order and wait, you pay nothing.

How often is this page updated?
